Crowns

Dental crowns serve as an excellent solution for chipped, crooked, or broken teeth

If you have suffered from a chipped, cracked, or broken tooth which threatens your tooth’s health, a dental crown can be used to return its strength and appearance. Dental crowns, also known as dental caps, are used to completely cover a damaged tooth which helps to prevent further deterioration, saving the tooth and eliminating the need for extraction. At Abbey Dental, our entire team is dedicated to providing you with exceptional restorative and cosmetic dental services. Since 1999, we have provided the residents in Las Vegas with services for dental crowns, bridges, dental implants, and more. We understand the importance of your dental health  which is why we offer same day appointments.  Our friendly staff is here to answer any of your questions.  Contact us today to schedule your appointment and become a part of our family of over 145,000 satisfied patients.

Bring back the great look and functionality of a healthy mouth

Crowns are covers that are placed over teeth to restore their shape, size and strength while boosting their appearance. Once crowns are put into place, they encase the whole visible portion of the tooth at the gum line. We can come to your assistance if you require crown restorations. Schedule an appointment today.

About Crowns

Benefits of Crowns

Crowns serve a wide range of purposes. They can strengthen broken down or weakened teeth, help restore them to them to their original contour, fill spaces in our smiles, help bring teeth forward, improve the appearance of stained and discoloured teeth and support bridges that are replacing missing teeth.

How the Process of Crowns Works

Prior to a tooth being restored with a crown, we need to build a strong foundation on the remainder of the tooth being capped. The foundation will strengthen the tooth and ensure the crown is well-retained. The foundation is often called a “core build-up” and may be manufactured from a range of materials. It could be a bonded filling. You will normally only need a post if there is only a small amount of structure remaining. We could need to provide root canal therapy if the dental nerve is permanently inflamed.

After the foundation has been created, we can prepare the tooth for the crown. We can then create a model of the prepared tooth. Crowns can be ceramic, porcelain, gold or made from base metal alloys. Ceramic crowns are a great match for the front of the mouth and offer a very natural appearance. They are made from tooth-coloured porcelain. Porcelain fused to metal offers an extremely strong bond because of the metal structure and is remarkably durable.

Who Gets Crowns

Crowns are ideal for people wishing to restore their teeth. Those seeking a natural appearance may be best served by most porcelain-based crowns, while people who require extra durability may wish to opt for metal alloys. Porcelain fused to metal is also known for its durability. Crowns can last many years if they are maintained properly.
